Mike Cosentino

Mike Cosentino enters his first season in 2025-2026 as the Head Coach of the St. Bonaventure University ACHA hockey team.

Mike spent the past 2 years as the Head Coach and General Manager of the Brooklyn Aviators, a junior team who competes in the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL). The year before that, Mike served as the Interim Head Coach and Assistant General Manager of the Elmira Mammoth professional hockey team, who competed in the FPHL, a single A pro league. Mike has also coached in the past for the Old Bridge Knights, the Brick Hockey Club, Swain’s Hockey Skills and Development and Norwalk High School in Norwalk, CT. Mike’s roles have ranged from Head Coach, to Assistant Coach, to Goalie Coach for these organizations.

Mike is from Point Pleasant, New Jersey. He played youth hockey for the New Jersey Titans AAA programs. He also played varsity hockey and baseball for Red Bank Catholic High School. While at RBC, Mike won a conference championship in hockey as well as being named a conference first team all-star, in addition to receiving MVP for the varsity team. Mike then went on to play junior hockey for the Philadelphia Revolution of the EHL. Following that, Mike played NCAA college hockey for King’s College and Neumann University. After his junior year, Mike received the opportunity to play professionally in the FPHL for the Watertown Wolves. Mike played pro hockey for three years in the FPHL, and while he was there, he received 2 call-ups to the SPHL and ECHL.

Mike received his bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Troy University in 2024. While there, he minored in psychology, political science and education.

Alongside his duties as Head Hockey Coach, Mike also serves as the Recreation Assistant for the St. Bonaventure University Campus Recreation Department.

Assistant Coach
Michael Granger

Michael Granger joined the St. Bonaventure Hockey family as an assistant coach in 2017. He served as interim head coach for one semester in 2025 during a coaching transition and has helped the program grow from a single team with limited roster numbers to two teams with over 70 players trying out annually.

Coach Granger grew up in the Olean area and played for local youth and high school teams. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and dual master’s degrees in Business Administration and Computer Science.

Strength & Conditioning Coach
Greg Gustin

Gustin has been at St. Bonaventure since 2022 as the strength and conditioning coach for Hockey and Rugby. A native of nearby Port Allegany, PA, Gustin earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Pittsburgh. He then began his career in strength and conditioning at Carnegie Mellon University before moving to North Carolina to work at a private facility called Athletic Lab. With a move back to Pennsylvania, Gustin became the Head Strength and Conditioning coach at Mansfield University for 3 years before finally coming to Bonas.

Gustin’s training philosophy encompasses well-rounded performance development, emphasizing strength, speed, power, fitness, agility, and injury mitigation techniques.
